By 8am the eggs are out. A printed price card, a coin tin with a slot, a folded honesty pledge from the kids next door. By dusk the box is empty and the tin is heavy. That's the whole thing.

What's an honesty box?
An honesty box is a self-serve roadside stall - often by a farm gate or village lane - where people buy goods on trust. You take what you want, leave your payment in the box (coins, cards, or QR - depending on the box).
They've been woven through the UK's lanes for generations. Honey by a shopkeeper's gate. Eggs at the foot of a wall. Cards left by a maker who'd rather you take it home than not have it.
Take what you need 24/7, at your own pace.
Pay what's asked in the box provided.
From real people, often just down the road.

Three hand-painted signs and a sliding latch. Plants by the door, eggs on the middle shelf, potatoes in a bucket below. The signs get repainted every spring, the recipes pinned inside change with the season.

Before you head out, here's how the map stays useful, honest, and up to date.
Honesty boxes have worked across the UK for generations. We map them; we don't run them. Use common sense, respect each place, and trust your judgement.
Listings are added and updated by people on the ground. Submitters and claimed owners can edit their own pages directly; anyone else with an account can suggest changes for review. Every edit is kept in the listing's public history.
Report it from the listing page. Missing boxes will eventually be hidden so the map doesn't keep sending people to vanished stalls.
HonestyBox.uk is a small, independent project made in Scotland by Colletta & Co. No fees, no ads, no commission, just a community map for local finds.
